Education & Training

NMSIP’s education and training is based on the belief that Collaboration and Communication are keys to providing a safety net for our youth.

One of the major barriers to youth suicide prevention is the lack of suicide prevention information and skills to recognize suicide-vulnerable youth, to respond to them in a supportive manner, and to connect these youth to needed community resources.

NMSIP offers specially designed training/education activities to ensure that school counselors and other adults who work with youth are adequately trained to identify children at risk for suicidal behavior as well as respond to expressions of self-destructive behavior.
